cooper town

(this blog comes out of special request from cooper.  he wanted to show off his latest project to his friends & family.)

coop loves building.  the bigger the better.  so, we decided to make our own city by recreating his favorite buildings.  coop picked out the paint & the wood, & painted & named the buildings.  i drew on the details.  perfect team work.  he couldn't be happier.

10 points if you can identify any of the buildings.  featured here we have the twin towers, willis tower, eiffel tower, empire state building, london wharf tower, & the patronas towers.

ps-cooper came up with a plan to trap a leprechaun. we will wait until it stops raining & a rainbow comes out.  then he is going to get a very tall pole & hang a very long rope over the pole.  then he will tie a bucket to one end of the rope.  then when the leprechaun comes he is going to cut the rope with a very sharp sword so that the bucket will fall down & trap the leprechaun.  then coop can have all the leprechaun's gold.  sound pretty fool proof to me.

here's a little glimpse into my latest project...

that's right.  t.j. & coop are going to share a room.  i have been sewing, painting, staining, appliqueing, & of course, shopping in preparation for this new move. the boys couldn't be more excited, especially cooper.

of course, i have been maintaining baby projects of the side.

sew lovely.

my 1st hand sewing attempts for the newest little jock.  

i know they aren't perfect.  but i kind of love their imperfections.  i don't measure anything or plan ahead.  i just cut & sew & hope it turns out decent.  this is my new favorite hobby.  i am a multi-tasker.  and i can sew in the car while waiting for cooper to get out of preschool, or while i wait in the lobby at my doctor's appointments, or while watching my favorite shows.  it is sew fun.

the nursery

it is done.  and only 3 months early.

i cannot wait until i can rock our little bundle of joy in that chair & lay him down in that bed.  i hope he loves his new room (his big brother sure does).  

so many people worked hard to help make this room as adorable as it is:

i made the wall art, burp cloths, pillow, little container, & mobile.  i also painted the crib, airplane, gray photo frame & diaper caddy.  my parents helped out by painting the walls (and my mom also helped my sew the burp cloths & pillow).  cooper helped paint the walls & put together the dresser.  todd helped put together the dresser.  todd's mom is also making a rocking chair cover & cozy blanket to match.  i cannot believe all the love & work that so many people have already put into preparing a special space for this special little guy.
